Deck overview

This deck is a Bant Defender Aggro strategy commanded by Arcades, the Strategist. The game plan revolves around turning low-cost wall creatures with massive toughness stats into efficient, cantripping beatsticks. By leveraging Arcades's static ability to assign combat damage using toughness rather than power, cheap defenders like Shield Sphere, Wall of Denial, and The Pride of Hull Clade become formidable offensive threats. The deck breaks parity through one-sided, power-based board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong, Wave of Reckoning, and Fell the Mighty, which decimate opposing battlefields while leaving the defender army completely unharmed. Mana velocity is propelled by specialized dorks like Overgrown Battlement and Axebane Guardian. The deck closes games around Turn 6 by overwhelming opponents with unblockable attacks via Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, massive toughness pumps from Tower Defense, or the overwhelming combat keywords granted by Akroma's Will.
