Deck overview

This deck is a Bant midrange stompy strategy led by Helga, Skittish Seer. The primary game plan revolves around casting creature spells with mana value 4 or greater. Each qualifying creature cast triggers Helga to draw a card, gain one life, and put a +1/+1 counter on herself. As Helga grows, her tap ability produces scaling mana restricted to large creatures and X-spells, fueling explosive turns where multiple hefty threats hit the battlefield in succession. The deck transitions from early engine setup into decisive board dominance by deploying army-building payoffs like Avenger of Zendikar and Verdant Kraken. It finishes games through massive overrun effects such as Craterhoof Behemoth and Moonshaker Cavalry, granting trample and flying to trample over opposing defenses. While the deck possesses incredible card draw velocity and mana generation once Helga is active, it relies on sorcery-speed creature deployment and remains susceptible to well-timed board wipes if defensive spells like Dawn's Truce or Guardian of Faith are not held in reserve.
