Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos spellslinger and group slug deck commanded by Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin. The strategy revolves around assembling cheap creatures and enchantments that deal exactly 1 damage whenever an opponent takes an action or whenever you cast a noncreature spell. Each instance of 1 damage places a +1/+1 counter on Ob Nixilis and exiles the top card of your library to play until your next end step. This turns passive opponent actions and cheap spells into massive card flow and rapid commander growth. Supported by rituals like Dark Ritual and cost reducers like Party Thrasher, the deck cascades through its library in explosive bursts. It finishes opponents through overwhelming commander combat damage, a decisive Chandra's Ignition, or sustained table-wide burn from cards like Manabarbs and Underworld Dreams.
