Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov aristocrats and lifegain attrition deck commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. Its primary strategy revolves around deploying low-cost creatures that gain life when creatures enter or die, such as Aunt May, Daxos, Blessed by the Sun, Blood Artist, and Cruel Celebrant. Once Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel enters the battlefield, any lifegain trigger can be converted directly into card draw by paying life, quickly refueling your hand and digging into powerful mid-game threats. The deck leverages heavy-hitting payoffs like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Teysa Karlov, and Massacre Wurm to magnify life swings and punish opposing boards. A deep removal suite featuring Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Sunfall, and Final Judgment ensures you can control opposing threats while grinding down the table through relentless death triggers and combat damage.
