witherbloom the balancer by ahaze

Format: Commander

Commander: Witherbloom, the Balancer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari token swarm uses Witherbloom, the Balancer to make big sorceries cheap. You flood the board with 1/1s from Bitterblossom, Scute Swarm, Tendershoot Dryad and X-spells like Awaken the Woods, then turn tokens into mana with Cryptolith Rite and Enduring Vitality. Witherbloom gives affinity for creatures to all instants and sorceries, so Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate and Gelatinous Genesis cost far less once you have 5-7 creatures. Chatterfang and Parallel Lives act as hidden commanders that double tokens. Wins come from Craterhoof Behemoth or Preposterous Proportions overruns, drain from Blood Artist/Mirkwood Bats, or a discounted Sprout Swarm loop with Witherbloom for infinite tokens.
