Deck overview

The Ur-Dragon commands a five-color Dragon tribal deck focused on overwhelming opponents with massive flying threats. From the command zone, The Ur-Dragon reduces the cost of all Dragon spells by one generic mana, accelerating mana development alongside mana rocks and cost reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman and Sarkhan, Soul Aflame. By Turn 5, the deck establishes an engine piece such as Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm, Temur Ascendancy, or Lathliss, Dragon Queen. On Turn 6, it unleashes severe combat pressure by deploying heavy hitters like Ancient Gold Dragon, Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, or Hellkite Courser to cheat The Ur-Dragon into combat. The deck leverages asymmetric board wipes like Crux of Fate and Ruinous Ultimatum to dismantle opposing defenses while keeping its own winged forces intact. Supported by indestructible granters and targeted countermagic, the dragon flight systematically eliminates opponents over two response cycles, closing the game around Turn 8.
