Deck overview

This Gruul Dragon tribal deck pairs Ganax, Astral Hunter with the Background Acolyte of Bahamut to create a mana-cheating stompy engine. Acolyte of Bahamut reduces the cost of the first Dragon cast each turn by two mana once Ganax is on the battlefield, while Ganax converts every entering Dragon into a Treasure token. Supported by a dense suite of early ramp spells and cost reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman and Dragonlord's Servant, the deck accelerates out formidable 5-to-7-mana flying threats well ahead of standard timing. Asymmetric sweepers like Draconic Intervention and Desolation of Smaug clear opposing battlefields while preserving the deck's Dragon army. Engines like Elemental Bond, Garruk's Uprising, and Dragon Tempest provide consistent card flow and direct burn, allowing the deck to overwhelm the table with massive flying combat damage by Turn 8.
