Deck overview

This is a high-velocity Izzet storm deck helmed by Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy. The plan is to chain cheap rituals, cantrips, and wheels into a lethal storm count, finishing with Brain Freeze, Grapeshot, or a free-cast cascade off Mind's Desire. Ral, Monsoon Mage discounts every instant and sorcery and can flip into Ral, Leyline Prodigy, whose loyalty scales with the turn's spell count and whose +1 further discounts the storm turn. The 99 is packed with classic Breach lines (Underworld Breach + Lion's Eye Diamond), recursive flashback engines (Past in Flames, Will of the Jeskai), and dense free/cheap interaction so the deck can protect its go-turn. Secondary paths include treasure engines off Storm-Kiln Artist and Birgi, God of Storytelling, plus raw card advantage from wheels. It plays as a proactive, stack-centric combo deck that aims to end the game the turn it untaps with enough mana and a payoff in hand or graveyard.
