Deck overview

This Mardu control deck utilizes Kelsien, the Plague as a scalable threat and targeted removal engine. By attaching deathtouch equipment such as Basilisk Collar or Gorgon's Head, Kelsien turns each tap activation into an instant-speed creature kill that permanently awards experience counters. Untap engines including Sting, the Glinting Dagger, Drumbellower, and Thornbite Staff allow Kelsien to machine-gun opposing boards on every turn cycle, preventing opponents from establishing creature presence. As experience counters accumulate, secondary payoffs like Otharri, Suns' Glory, Daxos the Returned, and Minthara, Merciless Soul produce massive armies alongside an increasingly lethal, vigilant commander. A deep suite of equipment tutors guarantees fast access to key tools, while efficient protection spells and keyword-stripping tech from Shay Cormac and Shadowspear ensure Kelsien remains untouchable and unstoppable in combat.
