Deck overview

This Mardu deck is a high-synergy artifact aristocrats and combo engine piloted by Jan Jansen, Chaos Crafter. Built around converting noncreature artifacts into Construct tokens and artifact creatures into Treasures, the deck leverages Jan's built-in haste and low mana cost to quickly establish a modular token economy. Dense 1–2 CMC acceleration and artifact lands reliably power out Jan on Turn 3, transitioning into compounding card advantage engines like Skullclamp and Idol of Oblivion by Turn 4. The primary win condition centers on assembling an infinite untap loop with Clock of Omens and artifact-enablers such as Liquimetal Torque or Biotransference, which produces unbounded Treasures, Constructs, and death triggers. An extensive suite of 14 interchangeable burn outlets—including Reckless Fireweaver, Marionette Apprentice, and Mirkwood Bats—converts these infinite loops or mass reanimation via Wake the Past into immediate same-turn table kills on Turn 5. The deck maintains strong resilience through comprehensive artifact recursion, though it remains vulnerable to artifact sweepers and noncreature combo strategies.
