Deck overview

This Bant deck is an aggressive, high-velocity Defender tribal strategy piloted by Arcades, the Strategist. By turning the traditional drawback of defender creatures into an offensive asset, Arcades allows low-cost walls to assign combat damage equal to their toughness while replacing themselves in hand upon entering the battlefield. The deck ramps efficiently through mana dorks like Overgrown Battlement and Axebane Guardian, curves into Arcades on Turn 3 or 4, and rapidly swarms the board with undercosted beaters. Lethality peaks on Turn 5 with overrun-style blowouts via Tower Defense, unblockable assaults through Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, or massive beaters like The Walls of Ba Sing Se and The Pride of Hull Clade. A backup infinite mana and mill combo via Isochron Scepter, Dramatic Reversal, and Doorkeeper offers an alternate win condition. The list maintains high resilience through efficient stack interaction and single-mana protection spells.
