Deck overview

This Commander deck is led by Hazel of the Rootbloom, focusing on aggressive Squirrel token multiplication, flexible mana generation, and aristocrat drain attrition. Early turns prioritize deploying cheap token producers and mana accelerators like Gilded Goose, Sol Ring, and Squirrel Sanctuary. Once Hazel resolves on Turn 4, her end-step trigger doubles Squirrel tokens, rapidly scaling the board and producing massive mana bursts. The deck transitions into late-game dominance via overwhelming combat finishes such as Craterhoof Behemoth or Finale of Devastation, high-impact life drain via Torment of Hailfire, or an infinite token loop using Ivy Lane Denizen with Scurry Oak. Supported by aristocrat payoffs like Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice, the deck continuously punishes opponents for wiping or sacrificing permanents.
