Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange combat engine centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary strategy focuses on ramping through early artifact acceleration into a Turn 5 Sauron. Once established, Sauron turns opposing spell casts into free Army counters while enabling massive hand churning whenever an Army connects in combat. The deck leverages evasion lords like Eternal Skylord and Gleaming Overseer, burst combat tricks like Temur Battle Rage, and spellslinger token generators like Saruman, the White Hand to pressure life totals. While resilient against targeted spot removal due to Sauron's steep ward cost, the strategy relies on fair combat damage across multiple turn cycles and remains exposed to sweeping exile effects and token bounces.
