Deck overview

This Jeskai spellslinger deck is commanded by Gandalf of the Secret Fire, turning reactive instant-speed interaction on opponents' turns into deferred, free spell casts via suspend. The game plan focuses on establishing steady mana through 2-CMC mana rocks and cost reducers like Stormcatch Mentor before deploying engine permanents on Turns 4 and 5. Once Archmage Emeritus, Whirlwind of Thought, or Storm-Kiln Artist are active alongside burn multipliers like Guttersnipe and Fiery Inscription, the deck rapidly scales its spell count. On Turn 6, it launches a high-velocity burn flurry, weakening the board and suspending interaction. On Turn 7, those suspended spells resolve during upkeep without mana costs, unlocking a game-ending sequence that deals lethal damage to all three opponents simultaneously. Rich instant-speed interaction and defensive phasing tools protect the board while advancing the primary win condition.
