Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Rakdos stompy strategy helmed by Rakdos, Lord of Riots. The game plan revolves around dealing early incremental damage to opponents using cheap creatures, burn spells, and ping lands to meet the commander's strict casting condition on Turn 4. Once Rakdos is deployed and attacks on Turn 5, its passive ability generates massive colorless cost reductions proportional to life lost by opponents. This allows the deck to flood the battlefield in a single post-combat main phase with formidable high-mana Demons, artifact beaters, and game-warping threats like Darksteel Colossus, Lord of the Void, and Razaketh, the Foulblooded for only their colored mana pips. While the deck boasts explosive offensive output and potent asymmetric creature suppression, it remains heavily dependent on its commander to cheat mana costs. It faces vulnerability to well-timed spot removal and sweepers, utilizing a modest suite of protection and recursion to sustain momentum toward a Turn 7 combat finish.
