Master of Puppets - Bolas Superfriends by The_Ally_Guy

Format: Commander

Commander: Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Grixis Superfriends control deck helmed by Nicol Bolas, the Ravager. The front face is a four-mana 4/4 flyer that makes each opponent discard on entry, giving the deck a cheap, disruptive commander; paying seven more mana exiles and returns him as Nicol Bolas, the Arisen, a planeswalker that draws two cards, answers a threat, reanimates, or exiles a library. The 99 is built to abuse both faces: a deep planeswalker suite (four other Bolas walkers plus Teferi, Temporal Archmage, Teferi, Master of Time, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, and more) and the artifacts that break them - The Chain Veil, Ichormoon Gauntlet, and Rings of Brighthearth. Primary wins are infinite loyalty loops, extra-turn locks, and a large Torment of Hailfire; ultimates on Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and token beats from The Locust God are backups. The commander is a strong engine and turns on free spells, but every combo and finisher lives in the 99.
