Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger Control strategy commanded by Anhelo, the Painter, focused on copying high-impact instants and sorceries through the Casualty 2 mechanic. The deck's early turns establish mana rocks, cost reducers, and recurring 2-power creatures such as Poppet Stitcher, Baral and Kari Zev, and Talrand, Sky Summoner. Once Anhelo and a token engine are in place, the deck leverages Casualty to double draw spells, rituals, and removal, rapidly accumulating overwhelming card advantage and Treasure mana via Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus. The endgame transitions into decisive, game-ending spells cast with Casualty, including Torment of Hailfire for massive X values, Expropriate for chained extra turns, or an infinite copy damage loop featuring Ral, Storm Conduit and Reverberate. Supported by flexible interaction and alternative copy engines like Double Vision and Kess, Dissident Mage, the deck smoothly pivots between control, value generation, and explosive stack-based finishes.
