Earthbending by Hellzpyro

Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, the First Metalbender

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Naya deck helmed by Toph, the First Metalbender is a highly synergistic +1/+1 counter and land-animation strategy. The commander's unique ability turns nontoken artifacts into lands (in addition to their other types), enabling them to be animated by the abundant "earthbend" effects and count for landfall triggers. The primary game plan is to build a board of animated land/artifact creatures, pump them with +1/+1 counters via modular creatures and counter doublers, then overwhelm opponents through combat-often aided by extra combat phases from Bumi, Unleashed-or the alternative win condition of Lux Artillery (30+ counters among artifacts and creatures). The deck also leverages modular triggers, counter movement (Resourceful Defense), and recursion (Puca's Covenant, Arcbound Reclaimer) to grind through disruption. It's a midrange value deck that can explode with the right draws but lacks instant-speed stack interaction.
