Deck overview

This Gruul deck is an aggressive tribal beatdown list commanded by Tovolar, Dire Overlord. The primary game plan revolves around deploying aggressive low-cost Wolves and Werewolves on early turns, casting Tovolar on Turn 3, and converting combat damage into steady card draw. Once three or more pack members are assembled, Tovolar automatically shifts the game state to night, transforming Human Werewolves into their larger, more lethal nightbound forms. The deck leverages overrun effects, trample enablers, and Garruk planeswalkers to push through massive combat damage and eliminate opponents by Turn 7. While the deck boasts rapid card advantage and strong combat velocity, it relies heavily on creature combat, features minimal instant-speed stack interaction, and remains vulnerable to board wipes.
