Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Stax-Reanimator engine helmed by Squall, SeeD Mercenary. The strategy leverages early asymmetric hatebears such as Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Deafening Silence to suppress opponent spell velocity and mana tempo. Meanwhile, the deck stocks its graveyard using efficient tutors and mill cards like Buried Alive, Entomb, and Stitcher's Supplier. When Squall enters the battlefield and attacks alone, his Rough Divide ability grants double strike. Connecting with both combat damage triggers allows you to reanimate up to two permanents with mana value 3 or less straight to the battlefield. This reanimation engine easily recovers lock pieces, protection creatures, or directly deploys the winning aristocrats combo: Warren Soultrader, Gravecrawler, and Blood Artist. With Soultrader acting as the required Zombie to cast Gravecrawler from the graveyard, sacrificing Gravecrawler generates Treasures while Blood Artist drains all three opponents to zero in a single turn cycle.
