Deck overview

This Jund Group Slug deck is commanded by Winter, Misanthropic Guide. It transforms symmetrical card draw into an asymmetric trap for opponents. By leveraging Winter's Delirium ability, the deck shrinks opponents' maximum hand sizes down to one to three cards while forcing everyone to draw extra cards every upkeep. Opponents are caught in a vise: drawing cards triggers heavy damage from punishers like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Fate Unraveler, and Underworld Dreams, while discarding cards triggers life loss from Liliana's Caress and Entropic Battlecruiser. Symmetrical discard spells such as Dark Deal and Wheel of Misfortune accelerate table-wide damage, while Waste Not and Tergrid, God of Fright convert opponent discards into massive mana, token, and permanent advantages. The deck can also end the game instantly with the Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank infinite mill and drain loop.
