Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet artifact and discard-aggro deck led by Jackdaw. The strategy focuses on accelerating mana with low-cost artifact rocks, casting inexpensive artifact creatures and token producers, and deploying Jackdaw by Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck crews Jackdaw with 3 power, grants it evasion via spells like Shadow Rift or Manifold Key, and attacks. When Jackdaw deals combat damage, it discards your hand and draws a fresh card for every artifact you control. This massive influx of cards triggers discard and draw payoffs like Glint-Horn Buccaneer, Brallin, Skyshark Rider, and Psychosis Crawler, dealing heavy damage to the entire table. On Turn 5, the deck converts its surplus cards and mana into game-ending lines using extra combat spells like Seize the Day, mass animation from Cyberdrive Awakener, or lethal wheel burn spells, all supported by efficient free counterspells.
