Deck overview

This deck is an explosive mono-black tribal aggro and combo deck led by Marrow-Gnawer. The central strategy revolves around deploying numerous copies of Rat Colony, which continuously grow in power with every Rat on the battlefield. Once Marrow-Gnawer enters play, it grants evasion by giving all Rats fear and rapidly doubles the board size each turn by sacrificing a single token. The deck features extreme functional redundancy with 28 copies of Rat Colony, ensuring consistent early-game creature pressure without relying heavily on card selection. High-synergy artifacts like Thrumming Stone can ripple through the library to flood the board in a single turn, while Thornbite Staff provides an infinite token combo with the commander. Secondary aristocrat elements like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Blood Artist, and Grave Pact turn creature deaths into table-wide life drain and board control. The deck's main vulnerabilities are low interaction depth and susceptibility to sweepers due to the low toughness of Rat Colony.
