Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mono-Black Aristocrats and Reanimator strategy built to grind down opponents through steady attrition before executing a lethal sacrifice loop. Rather than relying on its commander, Avacyn, Angel of Horror, as an early cast, the deck utilizes fast mana and low-curve creatures to build an engine of sacrifice outlets, recurring fodder, and life-drain triggers. Cards like Warren Soultrader, Phyrexian Altar, and Gravecrawler form the backbone of instant-speed infinite drain combos alongside Zulaport Cutthroat and Marionette Apprentice. To stall faster opponents, the deck deploys disruptive stax pieces like Contamination and Grave Pact that choke opposing mana and clear creature boards. If the combo is delayed, big-mana engines powered by Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and reanimated threats like Archon of Cruelty or Gray Merchant of Asphodel close out the game through overwhelming life disparity and board dominance.
