Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a five-color Dragon midrange/combo deck helmed by The Ur-Dragon. The deck leverages the commander's eminence discount to cast expensive Dragons ahead of schedule, with Tiamat as the primary tutor to assemble either a critical mass of evasive flyers or the Niv-Mizzet, Parun + Niv-Mizzet, Visionary infinite pings combo. Yarok, the Desecrated, Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm, and Utvara Hellkite turn one Dragon into a board; Scourge of Valkas, Dragon Tempest, and Twinflame Tyrant convert that board into removal and reach. Secondary wins include Call the Spirit Dragons' counter-based alt condition, Hellkite Tyrant's artifact win, and Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon's poison clock. The plan is to ramp, search, and overwhelm with Dragons while protecting key pieces with a modest stack/protection package.
