Deck overview

This deck is a Jund -1/-1 counters midrange strategy led by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch. The game plan revolves around turning -1/-1 counter placement into continuous card advantage, board control, and life drain. Early turns focus on mana acceleration and deploying low-cost enablers such as Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Devoted Druid. Casting Auntie Ool on Turn 4 allows every self-inflicted -1/-1 counter to draw a card while draining opponents whenever their creatures receive counters. In the midgame, asymmetric lock pieces like Kulrath Knight and sweepers like Carnifex Demon or Midnight Banshee incapacitate enemy boards. The deck wins by grinding down life totals through evasive combat, Snake token swarms, passive drain, or executing an infinite loop with Blowfly Infestation and Hapatra. While dominant against creature strategies, it relies on permanent presence and lacks stack-based combo interaction.
