Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Snake and Gorgon kindred synergies focused on deathtouch combat and rapid life reduction. Commanded by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer, the deck deploys cheap deathtouch creatures in the early turns, generates additional Snake tokens on attack, and threatens massive bursts of life loss using Aphelia's activated ability, Wound Reflection, and Grievous Wound. Alternate victory paths come from Fynn, the Fangbearer, which turns any deathtouch connection into deadly poison counters. The deck controls opposing battlefields through combat deterrence and pinging equipment like Viridian Longbow, which transforms any deathtouch creature into repeatable creature removal. While the strategy boasts resilient creature protection through regeneration and hexproof equipment, its win conditions rely heavily on combat steps and natural draws due to a lack of dedicated nonland tutors.
