Smaug, horder of treasures. by Swade

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red Treasure-Dragon deck helmed by Smaug the Magnificent floods the board with Treasure tokens, then converts them into direct damage, explosive mana, and lethal multi-combat turns. Smaug's haste lets him attack immediately, pinging any target for damage equal to your Treasures while his upkeep trigger steadily grows the hoard. The 99 backs this with Dragon tribal payoffs (Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Utvara Hellkite, Scourge of Valkas, Dragon Tempest), artifact-ETB pingers (Reckless Fireweaver, Ingenious Artillerist, Weftstalker Ardent), and five extra-combat enablers that chain in a single turn. Damage multipliers (Fiery Emancipation, City on Fire, Twinflame Tyrant, Gratuitous Violence, Isengard Unleashed) turn modest Treasure counts into table-wide elimination. Secondary lines include infinite-combat loops via Aggravated Assault plus double-mana Treasures and pure Dragon go-wide beats. The deck wins through combat damage and triggered burn rather than traditional infinite mana outlets.
