Anhelo by Shakinbacon

Format: Commander

Commander: Anhelo, the Painter

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Anhelo, the Painter is a Grixis spell-slinging value engine. The first instant or sorcery each turn gains casualty 2, and the deck supplies fodder through token makers like Black Market Connections, Talrand, and Fire Nation Occupation. Casualty copies trigger magecraft payoffs-Professor Onyx, Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Veyran-to draw cards, make mana, and drain life. The primary finisher is a copied Torment of Hailfire fueled by rituals and Mana Geyser; a backup two-card drain with Chain of Smog and Professor Onyx can end the game. Extra-turn spells copied by Anhelo accelerate the clock, while Kess, Magar, and Metallurgic Summonings give the deck strong graveyard staying power.
