Deck overview

This Jeskai Spellslinger deck is commanded by Gandalf of the Secret Fire, utilizing a draw-go flash strategy that weaponizes opponents' turns. By casting instant-speed interaction and cantrips on opposing turns, Gandalf exiles these spells with time counters, effectively doubling their value when they cast for free from suspend three turns later. The deck converts spell velocity into direct damage and battlefield presence through redundant pingers like Fiery Inscription, Guttersnipe, and Coruscation Mage, alongside token producers like Monastery Mentor and Kykar, Wind's Fury. A dense interactive suite of over 18 counterspells and removal pieces keeps opponents in check while advancing the pilot's own game plan. Mana engines such as Bender's Waterskin and Storm-Kiln Artist provide surplus mana across turn cycles, fueling multi-spell rotations that burn out the entire table by turn 8.
