Deck overview

This is a mono-black Rat tribal swarm deck helmed by Karumonix, the Rat King. The primary plan is to flood the battlefield with 27 copies of Rat Colony, pump them with anthems like Coat of Arms, Bad Moon, and Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, and win through overwhelming combat damage. Karumonix's ETB digs five cards deep for Rats and grants all Rats toxic 1, adding a slow poison clock. The deck packs three distinct combo lines: Painter's Servant + Grindstone (mill), Thrumming Stone + Rat Colony (ripple chain), and Marrow-Gnawer + Thornbite Staff (infinite Rats with Ayara, First of Locthwain as the drain payoff). Recursion via Patriarch's Bidding, Echoing Return, and Ashcoat provides wipe recovery. The deck is a classic go-wide aggro build with a very low curve (2.55) but a dangerously thin 24-land mana base.
