Deck overview

This Gruul deck is built to turn Karlach, Fury of Avernus into a repeatable extra-combat engine, backed by the Master Chef Background as a second command-zone piece. The plan is straightforward: ramp aggressively, make Karlach and every other creature bigger, then chain multiple combat phases into a single-turn kill. The primary win is through infinite or near-infinite combats driven by Savage Ventmaw or Bear Umbra paying for Aggravated Assault, with Wulfgar of Icewind Dale doubling the important attack triggers. Backup beatdown lines feature Xenagos, God of Revels, Anzrag, the Quake-Mole, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, and both Etais, while big draw spells like Rishkar's Expertise and Last March of the Ents refuel the midgame.
