Deck overview

This Grixis deck operates as a discard-focused control and attrition engine commanded by Kefka, Court Mage. The strategy leverages symmetric discard and mass wheel effects to strip opposing hands while breaking parity through Kefka's card draw, Waste Not resource generation, and Tergrid, God of Fright permanent theft. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks, reanimating high-impact Praetors such as Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, or resolving continuous tax pieces like Oppression and Cursed Totem. Once a discard punisher such as Liliana's Caress, Megrim, or Psychosis Crawler is assembled, casting a wheel like Windfall or Reforge the Soul deals massive burst damage across the entire table. The deck defends its board using free protection spells like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, before closing the game around Turn 6 with a decisive Torment of Hailfire or overwhelming token combat.
