Deck overview

This deck is a Temur Spellslinger Combo-Control list commanded by Kalamax, the Stormsire. Its core strategy revolves around ramping on Turn 2, deploying Kalamax on Turn 3, and tapping it on Turn 4 using combat or utility artifacts like Springleaf Drum. Once tapped, Kalamax doubles the first instant spell cast each turn, generating substantial card advantage and interactive tempo during opponents' turns. The deck closes games via compact infinite copy loops: casting a fork effect such as Reverberate, Twincast, or Expansion // Explosion targeting another spell allows Kalamax to copy the fork infinitely. This produces an arbitrarily large Kalamax to wipe the table with Chandra's Ignition or burn opponents out with Soul's Fire. Alternatively, Ral, Storm Conduit pairs with any copy spell to deal infinite damage directly. Backed by cheap counterspells and targeted protection, the deck reliably attempts to finish the game on Turn 5.
