Deck overview

This Grixis deck is helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord, leveraging the Ring tempts you mechanic alongside the full package of nine Nazgûl. Sauron acts as both an army generator and an overwhelming draw engine, looting away hands for fresh grips of four cards whenever an Army deals combat damage or a Ring temptation occurs. The deck synergizes heavily with the graveyard: discarding cards feeds reanimation targets such as Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Terror of the Peaks. Furthermore, Haakon, Stromgald Scourge turns the graveyard into an endless supply of Nazgûl, as each Nazgûl is a Wraith Knight. Backed by efficient Grixis interaction, premium board wipes, and mana rocks, the deck outvalues opponents in the midgame before overrunning the table with massive deathtouch threats and compounding burn/drain triggers.
