Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Izzet spellslinger strategy helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary objective is to cast high mana value instant and sorcery spells that feature steep built-in cost reductions, such as delve, convoke, alternative pitch costs, and creature-count discounts. Doing so triggers Rootha at the beginning of combat to create massive, flying, hasty Elemental creature tokens equal in size to the spell's printed mana value. The deck accelerates through the early turns with dense 2-CMC mana rocks and cost-reducing creatures, curves cleanly into Rootha, and quickly applies crushing combat pressure on Turn 5. It closes out games rapidly by chaining extra combat phases and token-copying effects, allowing gigantic flying creatures to overwhelm the entire table within two combat rotations.
