Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Villain tribal and discard-matters strategy led by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The game plan revolves around casting thematic Villain creatures, maximizing the connive mechanic, and converting discard triggers into board presence and life loss. Doctor Doom ensures consistent combat pressure by granting menace and triggering connive at the start of every combat step. Discarded lands trigger passive life drain, while nonland discards pump attackers. The deck leverages powerful payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir for one-sided board control, Ultron, Unlimited and Madame Hydra for token generation, and Leader, Super-Genius for enhanced card flow. While the strategy relies on fair combat steps and lacks counterspells or infinite combos, its dense synergy web, built-in evasion, and strong removal suite allow it to grind down opponents effectively in casual-to-focused multiplayer pods.
