Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on The Serpent Society, converting a high density of low-cost deathtouch creatures into an oppressive board-control and combat engine. Early turns establish efficient 1-drop and 2-drop deathtouchers, leading smoothly into a Turn 3 commander deployment. Once the engine is online, any combat trade or sacrifice forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature, systematically dismantling opposing boards. The commander's Ward ability taxes any targeted answer with five poison counters, making direct removal extremely perilous. Victory is achieved either by rapidly stacking poison counters with Fynn, the Fangbearer and proliferate effects, draining life totals with Arnyn, Deathbloom Botanist and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, or resolving an overwhelming Torment of Hailfire or Overcome. The list pairs consistent card advantage and recursion with heavy asymmetric attrition.
