Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Howling Abomination is a Gruul spellslinger-pump deck that turns cheap cantrips into commander damage. The primary plan is to cast the commander early, then use pump spells targeting it to grow it and trigger its 2-damage ability. Zada, Hedron Grinder and Mirrorwing Dragon are the hidden commanders: they copy one pump spell onto every creature, multiplying the commander's triggers. A secondary backup is the Storm-Kiln Artist plus Seething Anger and Zada loop, which creates Treasures and infinite commander triggers. The deck is fast but linear, with no tutors and only a small protection package, so it relies on assembling its engine before opponents can remove it.
