Deck overview

This Simic deck leverages the partner pairing of Pir, Imaginative Rascal and Toothy, Imaginary Friend to convert +1/+1 counters into explosive card advantage and massive combat pressure. Pir accelerates all counter placement, causing Toothy to grow exponentially with every card drawn. The deck capitalizes on blink and flicker spells like Essence Flux, Planar Incision, and Displacer Kitten to reset Toothy, triggering its leave-the-battlefield ability to draw massive quantities of cards and immediately reload it with even more counters. Supported by redundant counter doublers such as Branching Evolution and Doubling Season, the deck quickly builds overwhelming board states. It secures victory by granting evasion through Herald of Secret Streams and Rikku, Resourceful Guardian, overwhelming combat with Pathbreaker Ibex, or draining the table with Psychosis Crawler. A dense suite of phasing and countermagic ensures that key pieces remain protected against opposing removal.
