Smaug by user6092292

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

An aggressive Rakdos Dragon-treasure deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable. The plan is to cast Smaug, hit him with Fire Covenant, Starstorm, or Blasphemous Act to trigger his noncombat-damage Treasure creation, then convert that token burst into lethal drain with Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, and Weftstalker Ardent. Academy Manufactor triples every Treasure into Clue, Food, and Treasure tokens. Smaug the Magnificent acts as a second Smaug/hidden commander, turning Treasures into direct damage. When the combo is not assembled, the deck finishes with haste Dragon attacks, Scourge of the Throne extra combats, and Blast-Furnace Hellkite double strike.
