Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger and token midrange strategy led by G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn. The game plan revolves around casting noncreature spells to trigger G'raha, paying life to create scaled Hero creature tokens that enter with +1/+1 counters. The deck offsets the life loss through built-in lifelink, soul sisters, and drain effects like Papalymo Totolymo and Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. A dense suite of token-triggered card draw engines, including Caretaker's Talent and Tocasia's Welcome, ensures a steady flow of resources. Defensive interaction is robust, featuring premier free removal and cheap countermagic to control the pace of the game. Once a formidable army of Hero tokens is assembled, the deck closes the match around Turn 8 using overrun effects such as Akroma's Will, flying anthems from Abzan Falconer, or a large Debt to the Deathless.
