Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Mardu aggro-cheat strategy commanded by Kaalia of the Vast, themed around high-impact Angel tribal payoffs. The primary game plan accelerates Kaalia into play on Turn 3 using low-cost mana rocks and rituals like Dark Ritual and Sol Ring, followed by a Turn 4 attack that cheats formidable Angels directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Powerhouses like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, and Aurelia, the Warleader apply severe combat pressure while granting asymmetric damage multiplication and board indestructibility. The deck reinforces this vulnerable commander-centric strategy with format-ceiling protection, including free spells like Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, and Flare of Fortitude, alongside Teferi's Protection and Grand Abolisher. When Kaalia faces heavy targeted removal, an efficient secondary reanimation package featuring Entomb, Reanimate, and Animate Dead ensures the deck can deploy its aerial threats independently, closing out games by Turn 6.
