Deck overview

This mono-black deck harnesses the raw power of the Demon creature type through graveyard reanimation, explosive mana doubling, and devastating life-loss multipliers. Commanded by Ardyn, the Usurper, the deck operates by filling the graveyard early with premier threats such as Vilis, Broker of Blood, Archfiend of Despair, and Archfiend of Depravity, then cheating them into play ahead of curve with spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead. Mana doublers including Crypt Ghast, Cabal Coffers, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ensure that hardcasting late-game spells or mass-reanimation effects like Haunting Voyage and Bloodline Bidding remains effortless. Rather than relying on infinite loops, the deck achieves decisive victories by multiplying combat and life-loss triggers with Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Archfiend of Despair, or draining the table in massive chunks through Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate, all while suppressing opposing boards with asymmetric sacrifice effects.
