Kalamax Buff Aggro by carlbahn

Format: Commander

Commander: Kalamax, the Stormsire

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Temur combat-focused spellslinger deck helmed by Kalamax, the Stormsire. The strategy is linear but synergistic: tap Kalamax (via attacking or Springleaf Drum), then cast pump instants that Kalamax copies, generating +1/+1 counters and snowballing him into an enormous trampling threat. The deck is packed with redundant pump effects-Temur Battle Rage, Invigorated Rampage, Overwhelming Stampede-and copy amplifiers like Double Vision and Thousand-Year Storm that turn a single buff into a game-ending wave of damage. Key support pieces Veyran, Voice of Duality and Ashroot Animist multiply the counter generation and spread the power boost. The deck forgoes infinite combos entirely, relying purely on a critical-mass combat strategy to close out games through overwhelming single creature damage.
