Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Grixis midrange build commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord, combining the Amass Orcs mechanic, the Ring Temptation, and Wraith tribal synergies. The primary game plan ramps into Sauron on turn 5, leveraging his severe Ward ability to protect the board while amassing an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells. Connecting with an Army loots and refills the pilot's hand with four fresh cards, quickly digging into redundant Nazgûl, evasion enablers like The Black Gate, and explosive mass reanimation through Living Death. Opponents face constant pressure from growing combat threats and card advantage that replenishes spent resources each turn. While weak to well-timed board wipes and enchantment-heavy strategies, the deck delivers resilient combat pressure and consistent mid-game velocity.
