Deck overview

This Azorius deck is a defensive life-gain/mill strategy built around the commander Hope Estheim. The primary plan is to accumulate large life totals through a suite of lifegain spells, enchantments, and pillow-fort effects, then use the commander's end-step trigger to mill opponents for the amount of life gained each turn. The deck also includes a shrine subtheme that provides incremental card draw and token generation, and a handful of board wipes and stax pieces to buy time. Space-Time Anomaly offers a one-shot alternative mill win, but the overall clock is very slow. The deck lacks tutors and fast mana, making it heavily reliant on natural draws and the commander's presence to execute its game plan.
