Deck overview

This deck is an Esper tribal midrange strategy built around The Ur-Sphinx. The commander provides a constant Eminence discount from the command zone, allowing you to cast expensive, high-impact Sphinxes ahead of curve. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Heartless Summoning. By Turn 4, the deck deploys powerful card engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Consecrated Sphinx to rapidly fill hand and graveyard. In the midgame, the deck establishes an oppressive aerial board with versatile threats like Tivit, Seller of Secrets, Magister Sphinx, and Medomai the Ageless. Asymmetric board wipes, including Raise the Palisade and Kindred Judgment, remove opposing blockers while keeping your Sphinxes intact. Efficient removal and countermagic protect your threats as you close the game through overwhelming flying combat damage across Turns 7 and 8.
