Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov political and pillowfort strategy helmed by Shadrix Silverquill. It establishes early mana through efficient 2-mana artifacts, then casts Shadrix on turn 4 or 5 to generate immediate card draw and evasive Inkling tokens. The strategy leans into defensive taxes such as Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse, and Nils, Discipline Enforcer to redirect opposing aggression away from you while political pieces like Breena, the Demagogue and Combat Calligrapher encourage opponents to attack one another. Over turns 6 through 8, the deck amasses a wide flying board enhanced by +1/+1 counters from Shadrix and Felidar Retreat, closing the game through evasive combat damage around turn 10. The deck's primary strength is its smooth mana curve, steady card flow, and resilient creature protection suite. However, it completely lacks reactive removal and board wipes, leaving it vulnerable to opposing non-combat combo strategies.
