Commander: Vaevictis Asmadi

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a classic Jund battlecruiser deck helmed by the original Vaevictis Asmadi, a 7/7 flying Elder Dragon. The deck's primary game plan is to ramp into expensive threats, overwhelm opponents with large creatures, and grind out games through attrition and recursion. The commander serves as a resilient flying beater, while the rest of the 99 provide a healthy mix of creature removal, land destruction, and a few extra combat spells. The deck has no infinite combos; it wins through sustained combat damage, often doubled by Furnace of Rath, and supported by the occasional Relentless Assault to accelerate the clock. Card draw is limited to Phyrexian Arena, Wheel of Fortune, and Xira Arien, and the only tutor is Diabolic Tutor, making the deck heavily reliant on topdecks and recursion for consistency.
